FEDERATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF ACCREDITATION SERVICES (FDAS)

Introduction

At the instance of laboratories, the Federation for Development of Accreditation Services (FDAS) is created to grant accreditation to laboratories, for ISO 17025, ISO/IEC 17025, and ISO 15189 accreditation, as a non-government organization, under section 9(1) of the Haryana Registration and Regulation of Societies Act, Department of Industries & Commerce, Haryana, vide registration number HR/018/2019/03652 dated 27th March 2019. With its independent legal identity, FDAS is authorized for accreditation activities for testing, calibration, and medical laboratories seeking ISO 17025, ISO/IEC 17025, and ISO 15189 accreditation.

FDAS operates accreditation system to comply with ISO/IEC 17011: 2017, and its accreditation program would grant accreditation to testing and calibration laboratories as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017, and medical laboratories as per ISO 15189:2022. FDAS is committed to abide by the norms from international institutions like ISO, IEC, ILAC, APAC etc., where applicable, so that its accredited CABs are having demonstrated global equivalence and since 16th June 2023, FDAS is a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) signatory/full member of Asia Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC) for the scope of testing and calibration.
